Hi everyone,
This is my first post as a new member to this forum, and I have been reading some of your comments and tips in the past month.
I picked up the keys to my new 523i from PML almost a month ago. had some small quality issues (mostly on fittings and some noise on a passenger door) plus the car seemed to be jerking a little at drive-off and coming to a stop. I sent it in for a week during Christmas to fix these issues, and was advised (at collection) by the CSA that PML had done a software upgrade to fix the "jerking" issue.
Now, after the upgrade, the car seems to have lost its torque at the 1st and 2nd gears, to the extent that it feels like driving a 520i. I used to be able to start off from the lights by letting go of the brakes and just tapping on the gas lightly. I now have to step quite heavily on the gas to move it.
I went back to PML the day after to seek for advise and resolution, especially if I can revert back to the original factory loaded software which I was pretty happy with. I was told that there is not much they can do as PML does not keep a copy of the old software. The CSA asked me to drive for some days and let the car's computer adapt to my driving habits and things should improve from there. I doubted and asked to talk to the onsite (German) engineer to see what can be done. Apparently the engineer is back in Germany for hols and won't be back till mid Jan.
Not sure if anyone had similar experience but was told by the CSA that my 523i is the first that PML has loaded in this new software. Shouldn't I have been consulted before hand ?
Any comments from anyone ?
thanks a mil.
