Hi,

I understand that there will be a 630i. Anyone knows why it's not 630Ci since it is a coupe or cabrio?
Because it's generally understood that the 6 series has and always will be a 2 door coupe/cab.

BMW has some weird naming scheme sometimes.... :whattheh:

hmmm.....they did call it a 645Ci for the 4.4litre version (or is it 4.5litres?!). You are right, BMW has weird monikers...like the 523i when it's a 2.5 litre....

hello... are u the same guy with the e39 way back in BCOS? i met you at the malacca trip.

the 528(2.8) has pretty much the same output and specs as the 523(2.5) so in order to make a diff they named it 523. when they made the 530 they renamed the 2.5 to 525. Its more of a psychological thing i guess.

PS I got this info from website which did dynos on th 523/528 and compared the specs. the 528 and 523 only differed by abt 8-10 hp

cheers

Main difference is in the torque I believe....280Nm vs 245Nm.
