Re: Airbag light is constantly on

better get it checked for safety sake. there are cases of folk going to do audio or sound-proofing, end up accessories shop trigger air bag to blow but keep quiet and stuff it back in. there won;t be any airbag to save u in case of accident in that happened

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

Hi all,

Airbag light issue is resolved. Went to my workshop and apparently the fault code is some passenger seat belt tensioner.

Just click the wire connector under the car seat in place after clearing the fault code its back to normal.

Cheers

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

If it comes back on, ask them to pull it out a little so there's some free play before reconnecting.

The connector can get loose easily when you shift the driver seat often so more free play avoid this recurrence.

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

Seeking advice from fellow forumers. How do I disable the front or rear air bags? Mine is a 2006 E90 323i. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the manual with you ?

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

Mine is 2nd hand car, with no hardcopy manual. I checked the softcopy available online, but it doesn't mention how to manually disable the airbag. Rather it said the sensor will tell whether the passenger is child or adult, and then activate or deactivate automatically.

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

then why would you want to disable the airbags?

working on the car's electronics and worried that the airbags will trigger?

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

Going to put my child seat on the front passenger seat, and don't want to leave it to the sensors and electronic circuits to decide for me. Thought if it can be activate/deactivated easily, it will be great.

That's one way too... trigger the airbags and they'll be disabled!

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

Auto deactivation - adjust child seat till you see the deactivation light lit
Or else as per Oilman's suggestion

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

if I am not wrong, there are instructions in the owner's manual on where and how to put the child seat.

child seat should be put in the rear, not in the front passenger seat.

I also recall that children below a certain age are not allowed on the front seats, even with child seats. People with kids like brobot and tobynik, pls help out...

Re: Airbag light is constantly on

Thanks all for the comments/suggestions. So the conclusion is there is no simple way to activate/deactivate the airbag. I guess case closed. :)
