what's the average alternator lifespan for a e46 318?
suspect mine is getting a bit cranky.
any bros with good lobang where i shld get it replace and what's the $$$ damage like?

You may wanna wait for Jason (jaskin) to reply. He just changed his alternator recently. He changed his at BVO but I'm not too sure about the price. Think it's in the $500-$600 range.

If car under warranty, it shd be covered.

But V-belt change must pay S$60.00 cos belts are not covered and everytime Alternator renew, PML will change V-belt for safety..............

How do you tell that yr alternator is going soon? what are the signs and symptoms?

from the E36... probably 150k-180k km or 7 years +++...

outside cheaper... PML probably between 1-1.2k now... got 2 years warranty though...

E46 alternator lifespan not very long lah. Mine lasted for 2 years nia.
Miserable, considering a supposedly premium brand, even though it is made in Africa (of all continents!).
