Any Remus exhaust fit E60 without mod?

Re: Any Remus exhaust fit E60 without mod?

What exactly are you trying to ask? Without other modification?

There are specific models of Remus exhaust that are for the E60 but fitting the Remus exhaust will involve cutting your stock exhaust pipe somewhere after the catalytic converters. That's the only mod required. If you choose to go back to stock, you will have to have the original box welded back on.

I am looking for something I can just unplug with no mod.

Re: Any Remus exhaust fit E60 without mod?

Still not clear. Do you mean getting an exhaust that do not need cutting exhaust pipes??

Re: Any Remus exhaust fit E60 without mod?

The only way to fit an aftermarket exhaust without any permanent changes to the exhaust system is to dismount the whole thing from the exhaust headers onwards. That's the only connecting point with bolt and flanges. You will need to fabricate pipes to connect the headers to the new muffler at the rear.
If you can't visualise this, just go to any good exhaust shop and tell them what you want. They will raise the car up and show you the setup from below.

the other way is to do an operation on your original muffler by changing the internals. It is cheap and effective. No major mod involved. Just unscrew the clamp holding the stock box and upon completion, clamp it back.

I won't consider anything irreversible in the car as 'minor' mod.

Re: Any Remus exhaust fit E60 without mod?

I installed Remus on my first e39 cos the stock pipes rusted after 3 years.
It was a cheaper option than the original stock that PML quoted (they wanted to change the whole length)
Passed Vicom no problem.
That's my 2cents of experience with Remus.
