My top pick is the junction at Sungei Road connecting to Rochor Canal near Sim Lim SQ :furious:

TripleM,

As far as i know, the traffic junction to hit onto ECP from Meyer Road, i have seen the most accidents. Alot of driver are oblivious to the oncoming traffic from the opposite side. Once right before my eyes, a car just took the right and the truck smashed right into it onto the kerb. Now, even if i can make it in time, i also tiam tiam now. :lol2:

Good one and considering that junction u mentioned, traffic is so friggin light at anytime of the day.

which is why it doesnt occur to alot that there is an existence of oncoming traffic. Even to me.

SO let me start for you.

1. Ford Road Junction which leads to ECP.

Re: Bad traffic junctions in SG

I have a couple:

(1) Junction of Victoria Street and Rochor Road, outside Bugis Junction;
(2) (a) Junction of Orchard Boulevard & Paterson, 3 right turning lanes onto Paterson towards Shaw House;
(2) (b) Junction of Paterson and Orchard Road, 2 right turning lanes onto Orchard Road;
(3) Junction of Sungei Road and Bencoolen Street, 3 right turning / U-turn lanes heading Sim Lim Square;
(4) Junction of Rochor Canal & Selegie Road, 2/3 right turning lanes into Little India, but KK Bridge is too short to facilitate smooth flow;

and worst of all......

(5) The mini junction behind Ngee Ann City (Orchard Turn & Orchard Link), where cars from Ngee Ann City either have to cut 3 or 4 lanes to the right to go onto Orchard Road, or cars from Devonshire or Orchard Link having to filter left to head straight to Bideford Road (Paragon, CTE, Newton......).

Junction at Selegie Rd, 2 turning lanes into old rex theatre, exact prob of point 4. I luv Korea fans

Re: Bad traffic junctions in SG

2 more horrific junctions:

(5) Church Street & D'Almeida Street, near Republic Plaza. In the past, those driving from east heading towards Republic Plaza or Golden Shoe Carpark can go onto Robinson Road and cut across the junction to D'Almeida Street, then Malacca Street and Market Street (Golden Shoe's portion). Now that they have erected poles on that junction, you will have to take take Market Street (Prudential Tower, parallel to Robinson Road) junction, keep onto the BUS LANE to filter left after the Y-junction. As a result, the bus lane on Market Street is always congested in the morning......

(6) Any junction on Still Road/Jalan Eunos, particularly the one (heading towards Hougang) turning right onto Sims Avenue heading towards Kembangan MRT station. The traffic light flicks so fast you will have to wait for quite a while before getting your turn to take the right......

I've seen quite a few drivers (especially dudettes who forget to switch on their headlines) who've had near misses with those poles. That is one poorly thought-out junction.

Thats the Upper Serangoon/Bartley Road junction.

For me, the worst junction is the one from People Park Complex going toward Glass Hotel. If you stay on the first lane going straight (there are 2 more lanes on your right for traffic turning right), your A-pillar actually blocked your view on opposite traffic turning right. I got bang before because someone decided to run red light and only I couldn't see him. Other cars on other lanes all waited for him. When I saw the light turn green, I stepped on the accelerator and suddenly saw a van approaching my window!!!

Re: Bad traffic junctions in SG

The U-turns along Dunearn / Bukit Timah Road. The one just outside the Caltex station in Binjai Park is the worst. When turing to Bukit Timah road, the view is blocked by the road divider, the hedge and the overhead bridge pillars. I am always extra careful when using this turn.

Newton Circus. Messiest roundabout I've ever seen.
