Battery

Hi Guys,
i am driving a E93 325i with idrive. I cant seems to find any function that shows the car battery. How do we know the battery is running low. I had some bad experience with my previous few drives with car battery. They just suddenly die on me. hahha

Re: Battery

I can't help you with an answer. But I do want to comment on the issue of changing battery....

For 3er and 5er, you don't need to go to PML to change battery..... PML told me once that my 5er MUST use original BMW battery or risk damaging the car computer - very very serious problem. And the PML battery is $800, excluding labour.

I got a VARTA outside at about $300.

Re: Battery

And when my key with comfort access failed, they quoted me $35 to replace battery..... original BMW battery.

Re: Battery

One month ago, as part of servicing, PML quoted me $1200 for four sets of brake pads..... hmmm..... how to build relations with agents like this....

Re: Battery

yea they charge me $1200+ for servicing and changing brake. Best is they change my front rotor without asking me

Re: Battery

Get a Scangauge to monitor your battery's voltage. Aftermarket batteries can look for fellow forumer Gadaffi, his Ody range.

to be sure, u can use a voltmeter to check the voltage reading on your batt.

a fairly accurate layman's test is to monitor cranking to start the car. if ur car takes longer than usual to crank, it's usually a sign ur batt will kaput soon.

Re: Battery

What is the rating for E90 320i battery? 65A or 70A.
Will change to a bigger 80A battery better?

more won't cause a problem, but less will cause your car not to start

I tot is like $500-600 to change at PML? Below $300 is quite reasonable if change at agent
