I have 3 options in mind. Only tried AP racing before, and i felt it's good!
Both was told Alcon is another level up... how true? Nv tried so don't know.

Below are the choices in my mind.

1. Alcon 6-pot Advantage Extreme (Meant for F30)
2. AP Racing CP5555 6-pot
3. M Performance 4-pot/2-pot

All are fronts except M Perf which is 1 set front with rear.
If only those Alcon are coloured, too bad they are silver LOL...

Re: Big Brake Kit choices....

I was thinking between Alcon and M perf for a long long time... The 2 options are of almost the same price, but problem is this, one is just front 6, the other is front 4, rear 2...

Braking performance wise, I will say alcon will be overall better, but probably not as good with the brake modulation.... Also, with the DSC reprogramming, the option is just sports or normal... So I am not so sure how that will adversely affect "better then sports" kits.

4/2 is abt 4.4k
AP/Alcon is abt 4.3k

But of coz, 4/2 will be a better option coz no need worry abt warranty etc...
But i need to test the stopping power.

Re: Big Brake Kit choices....

Oh 1 more thing, better check with the workshop about the reprogramming..... I have checked with some shops that does not even know about the need to reprogramme..

Also, most *** but not all *** ppl that change from stock to stoptech and rotora complain about softer then stock pedal feel...

Same issue with the m perf brakes... Some ppl dun have this problem

I disagree with the statement on "But F30 brakes ain't good. Wait something that can stop in time". This statement has been used for generations of 3. It is mainly boils down to user. Not forgetting F30 is designed for Autobahn. If it ain't good to stop from 200km/h, would German KPKB already?

I had done ebrake from 130km/h with stock brake pad & rotor on E39. No issue.

Since it is mainly aesthetic, juz get performance brake since it has both front/rear. Swee swee.

Change no change also got complain softer then stock... Mine is fine

Re: Big Brake Kit choices....

Good post... I m still thinking very hard which bbk to do..

So far stock very good lei, just that I find it not so balanced, front disc big n rear looks small. Braking also jerky when coming to stop. But used to it. E braking quite good. Maybe the tyres make a difference too.
