Blackvue video cam on M3

Hi bros,
Anyone has a blackvue cam installed on your E92 M3?
The shop told me M3 is too complex and sensitive to tap power from the fuse which would lead to ECU problems.
Can bros enlighten me on this please. Tks.

Not M3s but did a similar video recorder setup on the current model 7 series, E92 3 series and current model Z4. No issues.

If anything I got all 3 cars done in an afternoon driving them there one by one myself.

Hi AC,
Impressive to hear you got 3 bimmers.
Can you share the brand of the cam and how many cams in each car please.
I'm thinking of doing all 4 sides but the workshop doesn't know where to tap from the fuse and claim that power will be drained when car ignition is not on.
What do you think?

Re: Blackvue video cam on M3

I havent install yet...but will be doing it soon.

each cam angle is 180 each so basically u juz need 2 to cover all angles.

bmevo,
With 2 cams only is it able to see the guy scratching side doors?
What's your car model and what cam brand you going for?

I wished I owned 3 Bimmers. I don't own any cars. Those cars belong to the family.

Long story short, about 2 years ago, I was "nearly" involved in a 6-7 cars pile up on TPE. Did not hit the taxi driver. Was too nice to leave him my hp number in case he needs a witness. He turned his story around and said I hit him (Taxi was last car). Thanks to the in-car camera, he did not succeed.

I am using a DOD GS600 in the front only. I am not familiar with electrical work so I'm not sure if 4 cameras can be used without cutting and splicing a heap of wires.

With regards to electrical drainage, this happens if you are using the video recorder 24/7. The ones that record automatically if motion is detected or takes a snapshot every few minutes. We did not want to run the risk of low voltage especially if parked in CBD carpark so the camera is only on when engine is on.

PMed you the workshop's contact.

Hi

I have installed 2 Blackvue camera on my ride. so far no problem. u will need to have the power magic in order not to drain your battery dry. with regards to which power source they tap, I'm really not sure. but they run the wire to the back of the boot.

you can check their website for power magic, pittasoft.com.

regards,

fat beng

Yes mine is a 2011 car. I suggest you bring to a shop with the right expertise. I personally don't know which fuse but I think any shop familiar with conti cars will know wad to do.
