my 2001 e46 has stock BMW with 6 CD changer in the boot. Few weeks back, whilse listening to a disc, it without my realizing switched to the radio at some point. Didnt really think about it, until a few days later when I realized it was not reading Disc #6. Then it would not read any of the discs, and now all I get on the head unit is "No Discs" when I try to access the CD's.
Obviously the car is out of warranty, and I am not sure who should look at this for me.
If my CD changer is spoilt, any idea what I can swap into it's place ? Assume I have to get a compatible Alpine unit ? Have seen converters sold in the UK so that one can use a Sony or Pioneer changer, but that converter is GBP 50 alone. Or should I just take it out and give it a whack or two ?
