BMW F10 vs Audi A6

I would like to share with everyone my test drive experience of the new Audi A6 vs the BMW F10. I recently went for the new Audi A6 Launch at MBS. My first impression of the launch was that it's a warm welcome with open arms. Free Parking at MBS, Audi Caps were given out, Free boat ride on their new Audi Ultra Body Sailing boat and a free day pass for the Arts Science Museum. It was a nice welcome. They started to rap about the new Audi A6 on how it has the new ultra light weight technology which gives is lighter. Then start to say features in regards to their Park Assist, the start / stop function etc. Now all these features, you can find this in the F10 so it's nothing new. After the presentation, I asked the guy from Audi AG in regards to Audi Connected and he told me it'snot out til a few months or so as it's waiting for approval. The Audi connect apparently is better than the BMW connect as you can place a SIM card into the Car and as a Wifi HotSpot. I was thinking to myself as it's not a great or plus point as you can do that with an iPhone anyway. I then went ahead for the Audi A6 test drive. The interior looks not as appealing as compare to the F10. The F10 has a more luxury touch to it as compare to the new Audi A6. The drive was good though as it doesn't have that jerk feeling when you are on the F10. Overall, I feel that it's doesn't have that edge to be on par with the BMW F10. Just my 2 cents worth :)

Re: BMW F10 vs Audi A6

BMW F10 is still a notch better than the new Audi A6. Steering feel is outstanding in the BMW.

The luxury Volkswagen has a very nice design and interior .... but we will get sick and tired of the looks in a few years time anyway.

Like all VW cars, the engines are probably shared among other brands Audi, Skoda and VW. A smack in the head on why are you paying for such a premium. :boxing:

Overall I would say the competition is getting close though.

Re: BMW F10 vs Audi A6

Prima facie, A6 is quattro and hence I think that has some advantage over the f10.

Re: BMW F10 vs Audi A6

I feel that the new A6 interior is much nicer than the F10,
Infact I always thought BMW interior is kinda boring in comparison
To her competitors.

this is marketing at its best to gain profits.

Re: BMW F10 vs Audi A6

I beg to differ on interior. I think the Audi interior is overly complicated. BMW's interior appeals to me as being direct and functional.

Some may argue this is PC vs Mac.

Audi is not a driver's car. BMW is. I say one

BMW interior is simple - long lasting - functional - good to see day after day :D

Re: BMW F10 vs Audi A6

I just feel that the new Audi A6 are not on par...features or technology per say as they copied alot from the BMW. Here is my conversation with the Sales Rep:

Me: So how do you adjust the steering wheel?

Audi Sales: You've to do it manually. If you want to do it electronically, that's an option.

Me: But this features are standard on the F10. How about the headrest, how do you adjust them?

Audi Sales: Just like this (And he showed me by manually adjusting the height of the headrest)

Me: The F10 can adjust the headrest electronically.

No doubt about this tho... BMW is indeed a driver's car
By far the most drivable ride I have, It's just the interior
I am bored with, or maybe just the E60's. But again, they are
All the same

Yah they are all the same. The new F10 interior although looks nice, actually looks similar to E90 series interior and also takes styling cues from E39 sans the I-drive screen. But then again, all interiors look largely the same anyway and after awhile all look boring once aged.

E46 interior is the nicest!
Agreed. For exterior I also think e46 > e90.

Re: BMW F10 vs Audi A6

after E46, bmw like "downgraded" the material used.

no longer soft rubbery plastic.
center console also no more tilt to driver.......

The F10 has a more luxury touch to it as compare to the new Audi A6. The drive was good though as it doesn't have that jerk feeling when you are on the F10.

May I know what do you mean by more luxury touch in BMW, I feel Audi A6 interior is of better built compared to BMW. After sometime and under normal use the surface start to peel off on the BMW interior. Mine has such problem. I was shocked. But no sure Audi also face such problem.
