Brake pads and hoses for F30

Hi all,

need some advice here. I am looking to upgrade my pads and SSBH for my front and rear brakes on the F30.

I understand that idrive monitors pad wear and prompts one to change where needed, presumably through pad wear indicators on the stock pads. also read that brakes are linked to DSC (?and TPMS).

my questions are: will changing to aftermarket pads like EBC/hawks void the above mentioned function(s)? or do i need to get a reliable workshop to do the coding. also, will changing just the ssbh pose a problem?

Not looking at BBK upgrades cos i find stock brakes very progressive, just need to improve the pedal feel and bite. My rear pads are due in another 6 mths or so. thinking taking the oppotunity to do the brake fluid flush tog with SSBH/pads!

thanks in advance

The car "know" your pads when its wearing out thru a sensor cable clipped to the caliper. Not via some wireless technology embedded into stock pads that communicated with your idrive like tyre pressure monitor systems

yes i know that. thanks anyway:)

btw the stock tpms is usu linked to ABS. and the wireless technology is radiofrequency.
