Hi guys, seen many reckless driver on the road recently, just to be safe from any dispute, torn between BMW Advance Car Eye and IRoad V9, making a choice between the 2 for F10.
Any opinion welcome. Definitely BMW ACE is more expensive. Thanks.

Re: Car Dash Cam

y not consider Thinkware or Blackvue.
both have very user friendly interface and good functions like 24hr surveillance, incident recording, continuous recording.

Have used both personally and find them easy and handy. cheers

Re: Car Dash Cam

My girlfriend is using iRoad V9.. very good quality and decent pricing. Comes with in-built voltage monitor to shutdown the camera should the car battery drop below a preset voltage (eg: below 12.0V)

Myself, I'm using Blackvue DR650. Better quality but more expensive. Doesn't come with voltage monitor, so if you wire the camera directly to the car battery and didn't drive the car for some time, the camera would keep operating until the car battery is completely flat.

Do you guys get the battery discharge warning after installing the iRoad?

This message --> Increased battery discharge when stationary; electrical consumers were temporarily switched off

This was discussed before, do a search.

Anyway BMW need to install extra external batt to prevent this. Some gurus here will tell you more.

Was using iroad v9 ... exactly 1 year kaput.
Warranty also gone ...
So changes to other brand and testing out ..
Most cam if on recording for parking will drain battery.

V9 drained my battery and cannot record full night . Auto cut off as I set voltage to 12v. So in the end, night recording also of little use.
Might be better wired up when engine on and off when engine shut off to protect battery.....

I have my iRoadV7 set to 12V now... tomorrow morning will check again if the car still shows the battery drain message....

Garmin GPS I off manually.

Basically the mechanic told me power stays on for 15 mins after engine off.... anyway to disable this time delay?

On my Lexus, when I off engine, the Garmin GPS immediately says power gone and countdown to Shutdown by itself.... that was soooooo ideal.
