Changing ATF

Dear Senior,

Per my current service workshop's advise... I should change ATF for my upcoming service..120k service.. he quoted me around 700-800.

Would like to find out how much the mkt price should be and wonder any brand of fluid is good for my 06 E90.

I paid about that price at BVO last week.

But yours is 4 cylinder? should be cheaper (less oil needed).

Mine is E60 6 cylinder.

Amount include regular service or add on?

My workshoo quoted include servicing.... if your's include... time for me to change workshoo liao...

Being thorough is better. Drain, drop the pan, change the filter ....

Oh, ok. $700 plus only AFT (and related misc). servicing is separate. Just did a thorough 100,000km servicing, plus a few misc changes (e.g. shock absorber bush). $1,800 at a Sin Ming Drive site sponsor.

What is the normal mileage for ATF change/flush? 40k? 60k?
For my previous nippon ride I always do it at 40k interval.

Some workshop advocate 60/80k, but in Singapore stop-and-go traffic, I would do it at 40-60k the earlier is better for preventative maintenance.

BMW auto transmission overhaul is expensive.

Mine solenoid was changed at 111k. Now mileage is 134k.

I had recently changed mine at 112k too.. Now really smooth.. Hopefully can last another 4 yrs..

My car was actually towed to the workshop due to GB not changing gear, stuck at gear 1 and GB vibrate badly after stopping at a red light.
Before the sudden failure, my GB already had jerkyness at low speed

Can PM me the workshop you did yours and cost. Just in case mine kaput in the middle of the road.

Has some jerkiness in the past, recently after reset back to normal shifting, so will monitor and see.
