Chrome window trims on black car

The 335i from PML comes in standard black window exterior trims(like E90 320i). Ie the car will look kinda orh lu lu.

Is it a good idea to change it to chrome?(like e90 323/325/330i) for contrast, or it looks like shiit?

My car will be sapphire black

I dunno about you guys but I kinda like the Chrome lining as it gives a little definition to the car... But I guess its all up to how you eventually want to dress your car up i.e black out grills etc... Terry's car, with the black lining looks quite good but then, so did his 100% tint on his windows....

Have a look at the photos at E90post.com. For them, its standard chrome trim for US-spec 335i, and they are all trying to change to black!

ABD, the PI versions came in chrome trim. If you wanna swap, lemme know.

My choice of wheels shld be similar except it wont be black centre but all silver polished. So I was thinking chrome kidney grilles, chrome window trims(like the pic u posted above), 'chrome' rims, and maybe chrome quad exhaust pipes(like M3 for poor beng like me who cant afford the ///M) would contrast well with black.

Until someone highlighted to me: So seen from side profile, u have chrome trims around the windows. Seen from the front and rear profiles, the trims around the front/rear windscreens are black......hmmm, so *confused*

I have not blackened my grills. I plan for a whole swap.

Black lining is an paid option overseas.....
if u want ur car to be OLL...then u need the black lining.

else, i will think along kenn's line too. unless u want to swap with me? then i be OLL Lor. haa

My take on the choice of having 2 kinds of window trim is for BMW to differentiate between sporty & classy. So it depends on what kinda "look" u are looking for.

my personal opinion is that the chrome window trim on a black e92 would spoil the look. It just looks better black... even with silver wheels. I think it distracts the eye from the shape/rims too much.

would agree that the chrome trim gives more of a classy look than a sporty look... but anyhow, i'm sure some folks would gladly trade for ur black trim (if it's possible) if u go down the chrome route.

DUN !!! You have few chrome trims to swap with if you dun like the shadow chrome. Unless they rebate you the option costs. Else, take the shadow chrome - it's worth some money.

That's another way of spotting an E92 325 from a 335 is that in stock form, the 335 will have silver grill as compared to black ones on a 325.

Yep, and all PML 335s will have the shadow chrome, while the PI 335 and all 325 has chrome trim. The separated twin pipes is another clue.

Maybe I should rebadge to a 325.......
