Click sound when changing gears

Hey guys, any 316 (f30)owners here? Can I check if it's normal to hear a tick or metal click sound every time you change gear from P to D/R or put the car to P, the sound is quite soft but can be heard when you are outside of the car. Although it can't be heard in the car with the windows up. Thank you in advance for any advise in advance.

Hi Tinspire, i think you can find your answer from post #136 onwards in this discussion.
To add on, i think the metal clicking sound is normal, and is more pronounced on uphill slopes.
