Calling all Sandees n others who want to lend a helping hand to Heart to Heart. I have met up with Sister Teresa and Rao. I told Rao we want to do some charity event. He suggested we contribute some groceries to be delivered before the last week of the month to Heart to Heart and Rao will divide it to all the needy. On 25 Nov 07, we can meet at Heart to Heart and Rao will give us the address to all the needys that need the food. We can convoy to their homes and pass them the food. So who is in ?

unless work schedule clash ah....but die die will do my part.
anyway teck, i think should open up to the rest of the forum
better to be opt in than opt out cos some members dun even respond if u put their name for outings or whatever.
that way, we can have a better guage of things for planning n logistics.
u the logistics man anyway.....haha

1 more thing, maybe can organise a group buy for the groceries once we pooled the charity groceries fund
can bargain for better pricing, money saved can be used to buy more groceries for em

Bro, in fact we can even write to a few companies and ask for their sponsorship? Or talk to Market / Supermarkets....

NO harm trying cos even if they don't, we're just back to where we started anyway.....

I'll start making a few phone calls.....

Thankz Jin Teck for helping to start us up on such a meaningful course. I'm sorry as I've been busy lately and couldn't catch up on it with you.

Basically, the organization is expecting donation in kind e.g. everyday consumables such as rice, sugar, salt, cooking oil, can beverages and the likes. The list of these items will be compiled as they are pledged by donors and the organisation will be updated accordingly. On the day itself, the pledged items will be consolidated at the organization who will in turn probide us with a distribution list. These pledge "groceries' will then be divided and dispatched according to the list.

Jin Teck and myself will be consolidating the donations, so please do keep us inform of what you like to pledge and its quatity. Any funds donated will be channelled into purchases of such items. Also, do let us know the type of sponsorship you have mustered for our updating.

I would like to seek volunteers to help with the followings;

1. Event Administrator (1) - to help with records and co-ordination
2. Event Treasurer (1) - to help with fund and purchases if any
3. Event committee (several) - to help with collection and deliveries.

I'll need volunteer for item 1 and 2 as soon as possible, please PM or SMS me so that me and Jin Teck can work out the details with you.

as I buy whole sale for satay mah, of course I can buy cheap cheap loh.
Oil, Salt, rice, sugar, cooking oil.........keke..... satay must use ley.
But cannot abuse me har.:furious:
Please note : Satay off on sunday and monday. paisei Jawzsg came :juggle:

jinteck, one week later can or not. I will in Beijing during that week, helping everyone to buy accessories, remember? :)

I am currently deep in thoughts over a very touchy decision for the good of the charity next month. Maybe my fellow Sandeez can chip in to help my my decision a little eaiser perhaps..The decision will make us lose a dear Founder Member and an equally dear Associate Member.

I was thinking of the following;

1. We donate a goat - can make stew, curry, satay and even Yu Bak Tern
2. We donate Guni - for the sake of the younger beneficiaries.

Anyone got any objection ah?
