Terry, I think single zig-zag lines means "Zebra crossing ahead. Motorists should not overtake, wait or park in the vicinity. Pedestrians cannot cross on the zig-zag areas."Terry;686169 said:no he didnt illegal park ...thats a broken white line which means slow down pedestrian crossing or school zone nearby...
it is still the same as double yellow... which means as long as driver is in sight of the car... waiting is allowed....
in the case of the swift probably driver is not in sight and he actually 'parked' there instead of waiting....
in theory if i stop my car at double yellow line... i am standing by my car... even if i stop there for an hour... its not against the law...
i have stopped by car countless times on double yellow line to eat by the hawker centre roadside..... the summon auntie come..i just wave and tell her im eating by my car... she has no right to summon me... but dont confuse double yellow with broken double yellow.... and broken single yellow....
broken white line is slow down please... but in theory u are allowed to stop there...ad it works like double yellow line... trust me i know... i met into an accident before on a broken white line... i rear ended the cab... cab stopped to pick up passenger... i argued it was a broken white line... TP came and proved me wrong...
just because he is summon guy tts why tio aim... but by law he is not illegally parked as long as he is within the vicinity and at sight from where he stopped
