DIY Aircon Micro filter

Hi,

Not sure if I posted this in the correct folder.

I noticed that PML replaced my aircon microfilter everytime I go for oil change even though I send it in prematurely at say 10,000 and 20,000km.
Hence, I think this should be something that we have to change regularly.
Does anyone have the DIY instruction for this? Do not want PML to do it for me, they always scratch something in the process.

Mr car is 2002 E46 valvetronic.

With best regards.

Re: DIY Aircon Micro filter

the aircon filter is right underyour windscreen.

Open the bonnet and the furthest part where a black rectangular box hold by three screw..

DIY require less than 15 sec to open it and replace will take 1 min... definitely faster then stripping rifle drill.... :)

Re: DIY Aircon Micro filter

Thanks.

I thought it's inside the car. Would changing it make the aircon more effective i.e. cooler?
Since it filters outside air, I presume that if I recirculate the ait most of time, not changing the filter is ok.

Thanks and regards.

piggyboyz is spot-on!

I suspect PML is pulling a fast one! I also kena last time. just like you. and the microfilter is not cheap you know what i mean.....of course, I never goes back to PML after one year.....

my 2-cent worth of advice: ask PML not to change it, u can buy it outside and install yrself..:)

For me, there is no need to change if I turn on the circulating air and there is no foul smell.....
I also vacuum them .....I will change them every 2 year....
Hope this is useful to you....
