Hi,
Would like to share this DIY of the dashboard aircon vent closure . This happens to E90 dashboard aircon vent which is open all the time and cannot be shut; and at times if your aircon temp is too low / or during raining days / or in the early morning or at night, your windscreen will be misted. It happened to my ride too, and after confirming this with PML, E90 320i series can't be shut, except those with the iDrive model which can be controlled to shut the vent off.
By using a very thin object, you can ply open the vent cover from the edge. Some strength is required as the cover is very tightly catched. After removing the cover, you will see 3 holes. Just stuff 2pcs of thick sponge into the 2 vent holes (left and right holes) to restrict the air flow, and you will stop the cold air totally ! The 2 sponges will also act as a filter to prevent dust or object to fall inside the vent pipes. After that, just close back the vent cover slowly will do.... see pics below of how the vent looks like after removing the cover.
Cheers !
