When parking your car, do you remove your nuvi gps unit from the suction mount or leave it?

I remove mine all the time. Not worth the risk of someone breaking into the car and stealing it. I know of people who have left theirs there all the time.. apparently inspite of the high temp in the car, its still ok.. but i'd rather not risk it...

I find that the suction mount tends to dislodge itself if parked under the sun. Could be due to the weight of the device.

same problem for mine as well - it need not be indirect sunlight - as long as the car gets heated up when u park within a carpark....

I avoid suction mount coz it doesn't last. Will pop out once in a while. So do a dash mount. I will dismount the Nuvi when I park in a place where I dun feel safe or where I feel someone may feel he can smash and grab without anyone knowing.

The suction cup which came with my Nuvi 310 just couldn't last for long.
Hence, I went back to Perfect Watch and got the portable friction mount instead.

Now the Nuvi is just simply resting on the dashboard with the weight of the bean bag.
If I want to remove it from sight, I just take the whole thing and place it on the floor pan.

I can't remember the price but it should be in the region of $50-$60.
Yes, it is fairly heavy such that it will sit quite well on the dash.
