Hi all bros,

Needs feedback whoever had used above 2 tyres to give comments below..
I am deciding on one of them to change to shortly.. Kam Sia !!

Size is 225/55 R17, Non Run Flat..

1) Which tyre is quietest ?
2) Which tyre has better braking distance ?
3) Which tyre is good in wet grip ?
4) Which tyre has better wear rate ? (this i know is Turanza, as Dunlop wear rate is not good)

Overall which is better to buy if for me, quietest is the most important ?
Overall which tyre do you feel is better ? Thanks..

Re: Dunlop Sport Maxx RT vs Bridgestone Turanza GR-100

I am on my second set of Dunlop Sports Maxx GT RTF. I loved it. I have no issues with any noise or comfort. Performance in wet and dry is also very good IMO. I did read up a lot before deciding if I should go for it again but no regret. Although, rating for some areas are not good. I am having this from 19' and now on 20' both staggered setting same type of tires.

But, always no stock.... sianz. My first set came with the ride and second one came with the rims when I changed. I did ask around outside but no stock always. Do you know where have? I reckon have to change after 40K km.

Re: Dunlop Sport Maxx RT vs Bridgestone Turanza GR-100

Dunlop Sport Maxx RT and Bridgestone Turanza GR-100 are not the same league of tyres... the former being 2 notches/categories above the former (not even a performance tyre). Please ONLY compare Dunlop Sport Maxx with Bridgestone Potenzas only.

Dunlop Sport Maxx is in the league of Bridgestone Potenzas... Turanza is basically a general touring* tyre.

In terms of quietest, Turanza will win. However for better braking distance and better wet/grip, Sport Maxx RT will win big (also win in handling, cornering).

IMHO, between those 2... i will throw away Turanza bcoz imo it is only fit to be fitted on a taxi.

* kind of general purpose tyre.

I am also on the Sport Maxx RT, and quiet happy with them, though I can start to hear some noise as they run into 32-33k km. I suppose they are due for replacement soon, any idea which shop carries them, and est cost for 19" staggered.

Thanks.

Let me spoil your party by persuading you to drop both of them.

Tyres make a great difference to your drive. A good tyre is not cheap. I have also used Yoko, Bridgestone(did not use Dunlop though) and they all suck on our BMWs.

If 17 inch, price difference is not big between the good and moderate tyres. Go use set of Michelin PS3 and you will not regret. Their wear rate is also one of the highest so its good value for money and performance.

Best advice, till one realises that PS3 does not come in the tyre profile that ts wants.

Really? Are we sure Michelin don't produce that profile tyre? In that case, my second choice and next best recommendation will be Continental CSC3 or CSC5P. Wear rate of Conti is however inferior to Michelin.

Aiyo, beng ah, no need to doubt. Google can already.

csc3, csc5, csc5p also don't have 225/55r17...last time I got check before.

Yes, i fully sarpork what ah beng say, PS3 is good on wet and dry as well as good pricing too.
Traction and grip is consider good for daily driver and eventually spirit driving.
Most important , IT WAS MICHELIN!

Re: Dunlop Sport Maxx RT vs Bridgestone Turanza GR-100

Hi All bros thanks for feedback !!

I dont need performance tyre, just quietest tyre preferred.. I know michelin is
good performance but heard not so quiet..

I think i have decided on Bridgestone latest Turanza GR-100, which i heard is
the quietest around now.. Even though grip and performance not as good, but
it is good enough for my daily uses..

Only 55 db on smooth road.. Very good for me.. Rest is around 67 or 74 db around..

Thanks all !! Appreciated for feedback and time helping me !!
