I'm new but not so new here. Actually I joined this forum since 2010, but this is my first post. Lol. It seemed no one mentioned about the classic model E36 so happened I owned one recently.
So far, no big issues except for the auto transmission. Maybe I pushed it a little too much and now it's payback time. It randomly switches to safe mode. And when it's in this mode, I noticed at Neutral gear, the car seemed to halt as if the handbrake is engaged. It's like still stuck in parking mode. But when switched to Drive, it'll only use gear 2 and 3(safe mode).
Anyone with such experience, hopefully can share some tips. Last resort, to the BMW shop. But before that, I'll diy first.
ATF still good and filled up. Tried reset computer, but it came back later on. Couldn't switch to engineer mode. Maybe my steps wasn't correct. Sigh.. [emoji31]
