E36 Chassis and engine number

Hi,

Can any of the E36 experts shed some light on where is the Engine number and Chassis number located? Going to pick up a used one and wanna make sure it matches the papers! Thanks!

its near the wipers, just at the bottom the glass part right hand side if i remembered correctly.

what abt the location of the engine number? tks!

The engine number should be on the right side of the engine, near the timing belt.
