Before i begin... take a look at this peekture and see what is wrong.
IF you noticed, the front fogs are in a different color, one of em is tinted, the other isn't. So there's the back story to this mod. One of my car's fogs are spoilt and the driver's side fog lamp one day decided to picha and have it's glass broken by a stray stone when i was driving, unfortunately, the one that broke was the working one -_- (The spoilt one is the passenger side)
So off to Eng soon to buy another brand new set of foggies ($55 a piece in case anyone needs to know), but as i was thinking of buying a pair, a thought struck me. Why not try to mod the spoilt one into an air intake. It's spoilt anyway. So instead of buying a pair, i just bought one to replace the driver's side and brought it down to Johnson to have it laminated over as well to protect it from future stone chips.
So here's the part 1 of the "Fog lamp intake" mod done at R2D.
bye bye foggy
Run ducting from SImota intake downwards (it was previously just sucking in air from the engine bay and it really sucked)
*horn had to be repositioned as well*
ducting poking out from foggy lamp area...
You can see where this is going...
That's it for tonight tho, didn't get pics of the finished work..haha...
BIg thankx to R2D for trying this fog-mod out. Car actually now runs quieter and the engine revs up more cleanly along the mid range. Low range below 2-3k rpms seems abit not so nice, but once it goes up above 2500-3k rpms, the RPM needle sweeps up nicely to the redline.
anyone else wants to do this gotta sacrifice a fog lamp. Mine's spoilt so i figured it was ok.
Will post pics of the finished work tommorw.
