i was waiting to hear from u..
over the last few months I have done quite a few mods on my 335. not only has that process been fun, i think enjoyment i get from driving my modded 335 is at least on par with my old e46 m3.
let me say that I am not an expert on cars but for everyday driving my 335 actually seems quicker and more comfortable than my old m3. i've never been to the track so cant make a comparison there
with the risk of sounding vain, the e46 still looks good, but when along side an e92 you can tell the age and some of the gadgets of new cars are just not there (e.g. comfort access, dual-zone air-con, integrated bluetooth - some of the accessories can be added in aftermarket but its never the same as factory installed). my old m3 actually had factory gps but it seems prehistoric compared to the i-drive based system
if you are considering buying a pre-loved m3 i would take my time in deciding. i found myself doing small repairs every other month (e.g. rear view mirror, mysterious oil leak, power window failure, passenger door lock problem, etc). it doesnt matter how well you maintain it, there is always something to be done
btw - the main reason why i let my m3 go was because the new m3 is out and I was worried about resale value. it was tough getting a good price earlier this year when I sold.
