E60 drl

Hi,

mine is a 05 E60 and i notice in idrive, there is a function to select Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

May i know what is the difference if i select that or not?

Reason being from my knowledge, DRl for E60 is bascially the Angel Eyes will light up. I can do that by tuning the knob from auto---->off---->on AE--->on headlamp.

So if i turn the know to the 3rd position, i can still have my AE lighted up so what is the use of DRL in Idrive?

Please kindly englighten me..thanks in advance.

okok after reading one of the thread titled features i dint know, i got the answer...

However just now i saw a F10, when he unlock his car, his AE lighted up automatically. Do we have this function in E60? many thanks,

I think when u enable the welcome lights the AE will light up when u unlock.

hi terras, this is only a feature in the facelifted XL versions of the e60.
from june 2007 onwards....

Fr my 08 e60, when I switch the light button to auto, whenever I unlock the door, the AE n the eye brow will light up light.. Hope tat helps..

If u hav set DRL Onz in Yr idrive setting, it will Onz automatically once you have started Yr engine..

Hi, i have set the to Onz in idrive but when i start the car, it DID not ONZZZ

If i set the knob to auto, everything sure ONZZ

If i set to off, everything is OFF

If i set to side light, AE will light up but dimly

If i set to low beam, everything comes on again....according to manual, to activate DRL, i should set to this but if everything were to come on, there is no need for me to activate DRL in Idrive so i am very puzzle

So when is DRL considered activated till now i am not quite sure...haha

If I hav ticked the DRL, when I on the engine, the AE will automatically light up even though my light lever is at off..tat how DRL works.. I guess.. Light nt switched on but DRL still lighted up
When I set to auto, if on the bright day, same.. Oni the DRL will light up.. The rest of the light won't.. Unless encounter dark area then other light lighted.. Tats how a auto function shd work..

i see bro, thanks. My DRL surely got problem....i tried in fact last night and set DRL to on and light switch to off. Start engine nothing happen...i like a idiot on and off engine then keep running in and out to check the AE....can i go to outside workshop instead of PML?
