E60 key start model steering to fit push start model?

Hi guys,

Just to check, I am trying to buy a steering wheel for my 06' e60. It is a push start model with the triangle steering wheel airbag. The seller's car is the key start model 05/06 e60 model with the same triangle steering wheel airbag (as far as we can sight visually)

Can we do a direct swop without alteriing anything to the base plate/holder? Cos a quick check with a mechanic says not a direct fit and need alteration.. Anyone knows of a workshop that can do a good job and reasonable labour cost pls pm me. Thanks.

Bro = PLEASE do not buy it. It's pretty complicated to make the alteration and expensive too..seen a bro had to ensure agony with this change.. its REALLY AGONISING experience.

Yup bro,

Have checked with the workshop. Seems to be a big project and not worth the trouble afterall. Am comtemplating to have my steering wheel rewrapped by Robson. Should be going down anytime soon. Ha
