E90 CIC Region Change & Map Update

I think my iDrive needs a firmware update as I am pretty sure that all my procedures and formatting of USB drives is correct as I am an IT professional for more than 30 years

I have already purchased the SE ASIA PREMIUM 2019 maps, but never get prompted to confirm update, and I understand from other forums that this is because my idrive needs a firmware update to enable map updates ?

Or maybe the just the region needs to be set using NCS Expert or ISTA-P ?

Can you help ??
