E90 K&N Drop in Air Filter

Hi All,

thinking of getting an air filter for my E90, have been advised by a couple of workshops to put in a K&N drop in air filter...rather than a open pod one...

any comments and advise?

Any idea where i can get this air filter at a good price?

if your ride is e90 320, a drop in filter is better than open pod.

you can get k&n filter from bvo, r2d or other workshops listed in the sponsor list.

Installed the drop-in K&N air filter for my E90 and yes there is noticeably increase in horsepower and torque.

However, my ride experienced a slight increase in fuel consumption.

i installed drop-in k&n for my e90 320 last week. can feel car more torque at low rpm, esp when moving off. car no longer feel dragging gasping but instead, moves off rather smoothly, though not as perky as jap cars yet... tink is the best liao but still got one more thing to try, i.e. change spark plugs. still undecided between bosch or volker.

of coz volker plugs .... mai tu liao ... but currently no stock leh

My personal opinion only, site sponsors and Rod please don't tok me: I think K&N is good for cruising at high speed. In a city jam, puff puff, I felt like my car got asthma

I think there is a limit as to what an air filter can do, no matter how superior it is. The 320 has also been complained of its lack of torque (as compared with Audi A4 or MB C180), an area that BMW AG must seriously look at to improve in its next generation 3er

quite satisfied with hurricane drop-in filter for my little 320.
no choke from 1k-4.5k rpm. step and can hear the intake suck in air happily. quite a joy for city driving.

intend to change oil every 7k milleage in view that engine may get dirty easily.

in theory yes
clean your air filter frequently and also see what is trapped in the airbox

first full tank after k&n in e90 gave me fc of 9.5km/l compared to previous 11.5km/l. hmm maybe i should junk it. too much added power making right foot very heavy...
