E90 sound like a taxi

Hello all, collected my E90 320i last weekend... enjoying it...
Just like to know, is it common the sound like a taxi from outside?
Is it because it still running in?

It's the configuration of the engine.

Nearly all the E46 318is (which had the 2.0 Valvetronic 4 pot) engine..did sound a little like a Taxi. I believe the sound will get smoother after you run it in..so don't you worry too much about that.

How many KM are you at currently?

Try changing the CAI and muffler to aftermarket types. Your ride should sound different after that.

Thats what I asked previously. Its loud initially but it will get quieter after running-in.

Currently 400KM... still trying to run in... I believe have to hit 2000KM b4 fully run in...

my e90 after 3000k will roar tooo!!!!! cheers !

I hv noticed that some of the drivers are quite aggressive. That car is freakin torquey!

It's either that or they like to take their time and drive at 80 km/h on the extreme right lane which has a speed limit of 90 km/h..
