Folks

me again !! :)
this is really not my week.
had a rough week at work.

then my home CEO lost her E90 key.
Dont ask me how ... its simply lost.
and now it is my fault bcos i "should have just bought that fxxking S80 that has keyless entry"

my question is
1. How much does it cost to buy a new key fob ?
2. if i take this opportunity to upgrade to a keyless entry/keyless start ... how much $ should i be looking to blow ?

any kind advise is most heartfelt appreciated

for those whole are more inclined to lose their keys, non keyless will be cheaper long term.

Hi Bro, Maybe you can try the soon lee audio, they have those system with keyless entry or even if you have forgotten to bring your key. You can jus type the password on the windscreen and unlock.. Haha.. But im not sure of the brand.. maybe you can go over there and check it out..I tink it the latest technolgy...

Re: E90-- tale of lost key fob and keyless entry

I think u need to hire her a driver. Key will not get lost & got ppl to open door. I think the key is about $500 before programming. Somemore, have to wait hor.

Re: E90-- tale of lost key fob and keyless entry

as what davidtch said, new key is about $500. need to wait a few days for it to be shipped in. car needs to be programmed to remove the lost key from the list stored in the car and new key programmed to the car.

comfort access retrofit can be done (not sure PML will do it for you). but it will cost a few K not to mention a new set of keys as existing non-CA key fob cannot be reused. also all door handles need to be replaced.

Re: E90-- tale of lost key fob and keyless entry

u got keyless entry u lose ur key u also is LL

Re: E90-- tale of lost key fob and keyless entry

lolx, should tell your CEO to take bus; MRT or cab. just need to bring $, no need to worry about keys and parking.

yes and no

No bcos the reason she lost the key is bcos she was trying to pocket the key into her jacket whilst carry our little rascal
key drop out w/o her noticing.

and we have combed the area thoroughly in vain

hence it is her believe that if the car had "comfort access", she would not have to take the key in and out of the pocket and would not had lost the key.

truth to be told... this is also the only grouse i have about E90 and the only 1 single thing i miss about the S80.
Else, the handling, acceleration, cosmetics win S80 hands down

hi David
thanks for putting my mind at ease
i was worried it will cost a lot more

i know my pal's W220 cost him $8k to replace the entire system when he was caught with another girl around his arms
