E92 owners, need your help

Do any of you know if your left sideview mirror flips up/down faster than the right sideview mirror when you press the button for storing the sideview mirrors? I.e. left side has finished moving, right side takes an extra 1 or 2 secs to finish, meaning they aren't synchronized.

I got into an accident not long ago, damaging my door and sideview mirror. Sent to PML for replacement of both parts. Now that its back, I seem to notice this issue, when previously I did not realize this was the case. Not sure if I'm just thinking too much seeing as how its a new door and sideview mirror.

Thanks.

Thanks Kenntona.

I knew it! So I'm not crazy after all.

PML guy says its standard, and they checked a new car and that's the case. What a bunch of lying @*@#*@# :biggun:

Need at least 1 or 2 more owners to confirm this :(

Mine seems very conformed. They move the same speed to me. Cocksucking mechanics and SEs at PML. Talk abt service.

Re: E92 owners, need your help

Norm or exception?

Re: E92 owners, need your help

Mine moves at the same speed as well...but why would PML lie about such things???

Re: E92 owners, need your help

PML will lie about everything as long as it cost them less work....

my advice is go to SWC

Re: E92 owners, need your help

PML says one mirror folds faster than other?:liar: :bullshit:

Dont say BMW, but which car manufacturer would do that n whats the objective? Oh so I turn right to see the mirror fold first then I turn left to see the other one?:screwedu: :naughty: :shakebon:  :errrrrrr: :slaphead:

SIGH. I should have went with my gut instinct when I first saw the mirrors fold. Just didn't feel..."normal" to me. Why would the new side mirror suddenly move faster. YES, PML guy said they tested another e92 on site and got the same thing.

More I think about it the more du lan I get. Will definitely call them up and insist they do something. :furious:

Re: E92 owners, need your help

mine is same speed..

the car at site they tested....is also done by them mah...screwed up!

Re: E92 owners, need your help

Update:

Technician says speed cannot be adjusted (anyone knows if this is true?)

Other BMWs at PML after testing, not only brand new e92, do the SAME thing, as in one side fold abit faster than the other. When I go down to pick up the car, they will show me.

Wonder if they will go and adjust all the BMW cars on site to fold one side mirror faster than the other so they can say to me "Told you already..." :lol2:

Re: E92 owners, need your help

what if u can bring down one car that fold the same spped...are they going to adjust to make it fold at diff speed? hee hee

Re: E92 owners, need your help

OK tonight I take stopwatch and videocam to record my mirrors folding:lol2:

What a load of Bull.

Re: E92 owners, need your help

i reckon its the way a particular car was assembled, some got alot of lube on the mirror motor, some didnt

no biggie, at least got fold what

Re: E92 owners, need your help

germany assembled = same speed

local assembled = different speed.

case closed

Honestly, if the car came the way it did when I first got it, I'd probably notice it, make a remark, then forget about it almost immediately. You're right, it isn't a big deal.

But this is more a case of my car going in and getting repaired (even tho claim from insurance I still paid 1000 for excess), then coming out in a different condition. Not to mention I've gotten used to hearing both side mirrors fold at the same time for almost one year, so when it doesn't it becomes more glaring.

Its just one of those really minor but can still bug the heck out of ya when it happens kinda thing that I'm sure all car owners can attest to having experienced one way or another.

Re: E92 owners, need your help

Why don't you bang tables and insist that they restore parity to the speed of folding? I mean, in a way, you paid for it..........

Re: E92 owners, need your help

easiest way..... u see chairs at PML ? throw them around...... throw them to the manager.... look for coffemaker... make coffee and stain the whole PML....

your mirror sure settle...

prepare a lawyer though....
