F10 523i Brake Upgrade - Void Warranty and Insurance assessment

Hi, I have been wanting to upgrading my brakes, looked at a few options. Then I spoke to PML Service advisor, who said that this would void the BMW warranty for the entire brake system and also in the event of an accident , if they inquire if the car is in original condition, they said that they would have to say no giving the brake modification.

Anyone have any prior experience with this or any thoughts?

Thanks.

entire brake system warranty is void - that's normal
if you change to Brembo BBK how could pml warrant the brake system anymore

while the 2nd question, will insurance company honour the accident claim if found out that you change brake system, that's tricky and differs from insurance-to-insurance

hearsay, someone change aftermarket wheel (rim nia), insurance company also tried to siam from payout. so, really depends on the insurance company. i can only say don't go for the cheapest insurance. cheap for a reason.

Think the insurer is trying to pull a fast one by claiming that their coverage doesnt cover aftermarket rims.
If this stand, wouldnt changing to another brand/type of tyre also release them from coverage?

Whether got warranty or not to me is the same. Warranty sucks... Got problem you bring back they will say no problem... Drive a bimmer n worst than my previous rides.

Foooo the warranty in some parts...

Insurance ? I think most workshop could handle that.

Please dun confuse warranty and insurance claims.

Bbks (except those certified) are not LTA compliant. Discussed: http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/bmw-singapore-motoring-life/71104-bbks-lta-non-compliant.html

The insurance company are not pulling a fast one by rejecting the claims in event of a illegal modification.

As with all mods. Sked dun mod. Mod dun sked.

Whichever aftermarket mods you do to your car, do not expect the agent to cover warranties on THAT SPECIFIC part. Brakes, wheels, tyres, lightings, even ICE......

Hence the need to do your research and get the proper mods done.

For instance, wrong wheels, wrong tyres and you damaged the axle - wrong execution BUT NOT by the agent's part. Why would the agent keeps the warranty intact?
