F10 Bluetooth

Not sure if u all have same problem as me.... the bluetooth will not be able to receive calls on the steering wheel button unless already used one time at least in making or receiving calls. I read last time the problem exist but not sure anyone has found solution yet. Software update from PML?

I don't experience this problem on my F10.

Usual procedure is start the car, a few seconds later the phone is connected and ready to receive or make calls.

Could it be the phone you're using? I'm using iPhone.

I have the same problem too. Must answer using the iDrive buttton.

Same for me....It works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't work and I need to use the iDrive button instead.

However, I have problems getting the internet to work. How do you activate it? My iPhone is already connected to the car via bluetooth (hence can listen to music and receive calls etc). But when I tried to activate internet (even after allow data transfer by pressing the Options button), it won't connect to internet.

Any bros out there can help?

Steering wheel button usually works for me.

affirmative, my james bond ride has been pairing with my blackberry and is updating my idrive system through germany HQ with 001 IDD calls silently, seems like a common problem with bmw n blackberry. I am praying very hard now.

but i have the same problem as st8800, some times can ans via roller on steering, sometimes can only ans via idrive knob.

My F10 bloody bluetooth and iDrive used to hang, but ever since I got MA to do a software upgrade it does not happen anymore. Maybe go get your software version checked. PI can go to those sponsors who retrofit the 10" iDrive.

Maybe can try to check the bluetooth software currently installed in the car and try to upgrade if appropriate.

when i collect my car(f10) the bluetooth software version are as follow, under iDRIVE, settings => software update :
Multimedia: MX-003.004.031
Telephone: TX-003.004.031

I downloaded the updated software from here, need the 7 digit vin:
BMW Bluetooth-Schnittstelle : Fahrzeugauswahl

The newer software version MX-3.5.4, and TX-3.5.4 has some improvement below. I do noticed the bluetooth connect faster with my iphone4s in my case:

setup with certain phones. Display and stability
with calls ongoing improved with certain
phones. Improved Bluetooth connectivity
with HTC phones. Improved phone

for Bluetooth audio devices.

Size is about 6.6Mb download to root folder of the thumbdrive and insert into the USB centre console, then go to iDRIVE => settings => software update
it will select automatically the correct version to upgrade. upgrade takes about 3-5 minutes in my case.

Apparently the big screen iDrive and the small screen iDrive function very differently. I have yet to try a big screen iDrive in F10 though.

For Internet connection, you will need to turn on wifi hotspot on your fones.

It is really a waste of time to get the internet connection working especially in Spore..the speed will bored u to death..if you are in korea or japan..this feature is value add.
