In a call for safety, BMW has offered warnings to the owners of 2013 M5 and M6 models to stop driving their cars until BMW gets a faulty oil pump repaired.
As a carmaker, you would want your customers to be happy with their new purchases, have a blast of a ride in their machines and enjoy the joy of driving. Although BMW wishes nothing but the same, a recent problem has resulted in the carmaker having no choice but to issue a stop-warning to the owners of the 2013 M5 and M6 models.

The problem is believed to stem from a problem with the S63TU 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine found in the said models. BMW reportedly discovered a serious issue with the eight cylinder unit's oil pump on certain models fitted with the aforementioned engine.

In elaboration, the affected pump "could experience a sudden loss of pressure which will result in severe engine damage", hence forcing BMW's hand to issue the 'Do-Not-Drive' safety warning to its affected customers.

BMW said its Customer Relations division has already begun owners of the affected models and has halted deliveries of new models until the problem is fixed. A bad day for the BMW camp, it would appear.
