F13 - help suggest an external color please?

To the brothers (and in the odd chance of the fairer sex reading this) and sisters in the forum,

At the recent PML F13 launch, I took the plunge and indented a Deep Sea Blue metallic 640i with Cinnamon Brown interior, with some additional options added.

As the car won't be ready till Feb next year, I'm now having second thought on the exterior color.

Anything red has been banned by she who must be obeyed (aka. Finance Manager, aka. Domestic Affairs Director, aka. 老婆大人), so I can't opt for the Vermilion Red. My F02 is Sapphire Black, so I don't really fancy another car with the same colour. Mineral or Alpine White is bird-shit target practice, so I really don't fancy having to clean up the mess.

I've narrowed it down to my original selection of Deep Sea Blue or Space Grey Metallic, but I'm really having trouble finalizing the selection. Cinnamon Brown interior stays, because that's what Darling Dearest (aka. Princess, aka. 皇太后) likes.

Can I have the thoughts of the fellow Bimmer/Beemer drivers here on what would be a good choice from the 2 above?

Space Grey Metallic is a conservative colour, more for a sedan. And there are so many cars of similar shades on the roads.... within BMW stable, there are already a few greyish/silverish shades.....

To me, a lifestyle model has to pick a variant lively colour.

Deep Sea Blue Metallic.

Mojave Metallic must see in real life. Not many choices, really.

The rest, Orion Silver, Space Grey, Titan Silver, are all various tones in the same category.

Ha ha - I had the same issue like u. I went back twice before (finally) deciding on DSB.

I had DSB on my previous 6 - in 2005 and a metallic brown in 2009.

Didn't want the same color but choices are very limited. CFO wanted a black (first choice) but after viewing the car - its just didn't gel for us (thats our opinion).

The Launch Red car + Black Rims color combo was :furious:

Unfortunately the new 6 don't come in Stratus Grey. Imperial Blue would great but again not available.

U seen the pearl white with Brown leather in the showroom ?

I would have taken it - if it has ivory interior.

There is a little defect tho...:errrrrrr: on that car. Nothing that they cannot fix + with some $$$ incentive !!

What about opting for the Individual colors ?

Hi MYSTIC! Hahaha... excellent choice of DSB (seeing how I'll probably end up choosing that as the exterior colour as well). Yes, yes, the CFO's wishes NEED to be obeyed, otherwise, we wouldn't be allowed our poisons....

Individual colours - the only thing I like is the light blue one, but it's a "frozen" matte paint, and maintenance would be HELL, so that's not looking likely. As it stands, Deep Sea Blue is looking more and more like the final choice. I'm also having to control these strange urges to upgrade and up-option, since they won't start production on my car till December. I still have time to succumb to the poison...

I think the red is unique and very nice. Not available on other model.

I just saw one in space grey. Anyone know if it has the full LED headlights? It is super bright and different from f10.

Hi hellbreath, yes all PML 6 coupes are equipped with LED adaptive lights. I got sold on the lights. And just got reminded by wifey a minute ago: NO RED, period.

What about Carbon Black ah? Anyone has any experience with this color?

The LED adaptive ligths is a really nice feature. Wonder if can fit on f10.

Carbon black is a really dark blue. Nice and rare colour. But i think red is still nicer.

Helbreath, does your F10 have the Aluminium trim interior? I'm now faced with another dilemma - should I stick with the Aluminium Interior, or upgrade to the Aluminium Hexagon interior? Is there a lot of reflection in daylight driving, and is the metal trim hot to the touch after all day parking under the sun?

Another option I could do for the F13 is to swap it to the Fine-Wood Trim Poplar Grain Gray, but I don't think the 6 would look nice with such a fuddly duddly woody interior (it's fine for my F02, but the F13 is supposed to be a 'younger' car, no?)

As for the LED lights - I don't think the shape of the lights of the 6 are similar to that of the F10. These lights come in a sealed housing, I think, so kinda hard to cut & paste to fit, I reckon...

Mine has the alum hexagon trim. I am quite happy with it. I dont find it reflective in day to day driving and after hot sun i dont find it hot to touch. Not any different to wood trim. In fact i find dust and finderprint less obvious. I think it gives it a more sporty look. What interior colour are you going for?

My F02 also has 2 tone interior, which I find very useful (Sahara Beige with black footwells) in hiding the dirt on the floor. My previous E65 only had the single tone Beige interior, including the footwells, and it really dirtied easily.

I'm very tempted to go for Aluminium Hexagon trim... wonder if PML has any cars with Alum Hex for me to check out...

I am not sure if PML as any alum hexagon trim to see. But happens my interior is also cinnamon brown. I think nice combo.

The DSB with the rim style 367 is really garang..... But have you thought about the Havanna?
