Folding mirror questions

Any bros here ever have a problem with the folding mechanism of the M3 mirror? One of my mirrors would not fold back and it was after many tries that I got it to work again. Also I noticed that the tilt down function does not restore the mirror to the exact same position after return.
Any comments?

well, u can check if someone accidentally brushed again the mirror, causing the mirror to be pushed outwards and hence cannot fold back. quite common with side to side parking in singapore.
just a possiblity....hope that helps
or else u should go look for a mechanic to check out the wiring

I just bought a 3yrs old E46. May I know can the side mirror be folded electronically? I can't seem to find the switch (if there is any). Thanks!

If you do not have a button/switch on ur arm rest, then ur mirrors are non-electronically foldable. U have to get mirrors that have motors that fold and the switch to replace the one at your armrest. Only 2 mirrors allow for this, M3 mirrors and stock elephant ears!

My driver side mirror has got this hiccups bout 4-5 times, of which one time needed to get the car sent back to PML....
And just recently it happened again so will send the car in next week...great!

Only 2 mirrors allow for this, M3 mirrors and stock elephant ears!

Errr.. Sam, stock elephant ears got electronically folded one meh?
