Former Speaker of Parliament Michael Palmer will be joining law firm Lawrence Quahe & Woo.

Mr Palmer was formerly with Harry Elias Partnership.

Mr Quahe said Mr Palmer will be a significant addition to the firm's capability in serving the regional needs of its clients, in particular Indonesia.

He added that more importantly, Mr Palmer will enhance the firm's capacity to provide litigation services in complex cross-border cases, without the burden of large firm conflict of interest restrictions.

Mr Palmer told Channel NewsAsia he is happy to join the firm started by his friends and is looking forward to developing his practice with his new partners.

The former PAP MP for Punggol East quit politics in December after he confessed to having an extra-marital affair.

Which part of his reputation is gone?

The people elected a MP ... Not a pastor.

Would be different if he was gay.

As long as a member of parliament carries out his duties faithfully and tries his best... i would think his personal business is his own. People should not be fast to judge, least they too will be judged.

We live our own lives and make our own decisions. Everyone makes mistakes and need to pick themselves up and move on. Why cant we gracefully allow others to do so?

Disagree......don't be naive that this world is fair and just.

Both are MPs and involved an affair but public (especially those cb mainstream media) view it a vast difference.

Opposition party MP = Adultery
Ruling party MP = Misconduct

And now we're talking to let this so called 1 in a 10000 picked "perfect elite" a chance to stand up again but not the former....kong simi???
May be my england no good so really buay understand please enlighten.

So settle once and for all - run road.
