You need to use a toothpick and slowly pull out the lock, because BMW are designed in that way that you cannot unlock the door using your fingers

do u hear a "ta ta" sound when u try to unlock or totally no sound.
got sound means either part of door lock mechanism broken and off alignment.
no sound i think bigger problem, either bigger hardware prob or perhaps software gone nuts.
like what davidtch mentioned, this kinda prob not easy to diy....go workshop better

I remember one forummer here who was stuck in his coupe cos both doors couldn't open and he had to climb out from the sunroof.
This will not be feasible for people like kevinbmw as his waist is wider than the sunroof. He should keep some food n drinks in his car to survive for the long haul.
