CAR HAS BEEN SOLD. THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST.
Hi guys
I am thinking of selling my E30 because I hardly use it and hope someone else will enjoy it more. I don't think I have driven more than a thousand km since I bought it last year.
The car is a chrome bumper E30 320i sedan with 5-speed manual transmission, first registered in May 1987 and COE til end April 2017. I am the fifth owner -- the first owner owned it for 4 years, sold to his neighbour who owned it for 2 years, who sold to an ethusiast who owned it for 10 years, who sold to my friend's wife who owned it for 4 years and sold to me last year. As far as I know, it is accident free and rust free (I saw it when it was prepped for paint late last year) -- all body panels are very straight as you can see from the photos.
It has some mods by the previous owners, including Eibach springs, Sachs shocks, Tarox BBK, 16 inch Mille Miglia Chronos wheels, Hiop close ratio gearbox, a rare BMW LSD, Racing Dynamics cam cover, Hiop exhaust, fully rebuilt engine..... etc. etc.
Recent work includes four new headlights, new aircon parts, new Alpine CDA-9887 iPod-ready HU with Alpine amp, Focal and Boston Acoustics speakers, retrimming of some interior bits by Hap Li in Sin Ming, a US market OEM BMW 3rd brake light, new OEM BMW gearknob, period correct M Technik I steering wheel, new Bridgestone RE-050As, replacement of some exterior trim, period correct silver on black plastic licence plates, a respray to period correct H139 Bronzitbeige metallic by Lim Yew Boo in Sin Ming, a thin black pinstripe along the flanks, various new bushes and hoses and replacement of lots of wear and tear parts.
The car comes with several years of bills, plus an original E30 owner's manual (LHD one bought from eBay). I have it serviced at BVO and J4C in Sin Ming (Bernard at BVO can vouch that it is in rude health as he's recently driven it). I am not sure what the mileage is as the odometer has been replaced at some point but am told that it has done about 35k km since the engine was rebuilt a few years back. It still has its original 1987 registration number (no 4, no X, no fines in Malaysia from my research) which I may keep and put on my next project car (not decided yet, Mock!).
Am looking for offers in the high S$30k range. This will probably need to be a cash purchase as it is hard to get financing on older cars. Please PM me if interested. I can show the car during the evenings, around 9 pm, near Newton Circus, but will need a couple of days' advance notice. THIS IS NOT A DISTRESSED SALE SO NO LOW BALL OFFERS AND NO DEALERS PLEASE. I will keep the car if there aren't any serious offers (or pass it to a dealer who will probably advertise it for S$45k). I'll probably pop in a pair of Recaros if I end up keeping the car...
You can find more information on the car under the Classics section:

There are two problems that I would like to highlight -- the front brakes occasionally seem to be binding when coming to a halt (my mechanics say the pads are too thick so this should go away over time; it makes some noise but doesn't seem to affect brake performance) and the interior smells a bit damp (need to use it more I guess), but I am sure most of you who are used to older cars will say that these are small things.
This is a golden opportunity for E30 lovers to own what is arguably the best specimen in town (especially if you like the original chromie look with the same rear lights as the E30 M3). I am open to offers from genuine enthusiasts but no time wasters please. Thanks for reading this long post!
