Hi guys, I know it sounds kinda stupid. But I believe my e60 fuel door supposed to be locked when my car doors are. But it isn't....

Any one has experience with this problem?

Re: Fuel door wouldn't lock

Either your motor gone or the cable inside broke. If cable broke damage tens of dollars, if motor will be at least 100 plus.

Bro, thanks for the suggestion...I tried few times, the problem is, I cannot even see the lock....or the locking device.....I think I saw an empty hole, which I figured should have something spring out, to lock itself into another hole on the door cover....

its the direct contact with a rubber thing covering this switch spring, can press down with yr finger, give it a try.. it may juz save you few hundred dollars

Re: Fuel door wouldn't lock

Or maybe the latch hook broke already, that why it cannot lock the fuel door

Re: Fuel door wouldn't lock

There's supposed to be a plunger than springs and lock the fuel door via the little 'hole' you saw. Actuator may have failed. Cable is for emergency release from the trunk area. Hope this helps :)
