Fuel for thought for the N54 Turbo

The Manual recommend a min of 95 octane and no Ethanol mix fuel, Do you think running 91 will kill the engine? In USA reading on the 1 addict site seem like most of them are running a 91 or 93 oct there are even some that run on the mix ethanol fuel with no problem. The thing is the reviews are mix some have ran with out problem some seem to suspect that poor fuel is the cause of the HPFP.

Any ideas comment?

If I am not wrong, US' 91 AKI Octane is similar to our local 95 RON Octane.

Locally..95 is min, follow the reco as stated on the sticker of the fuel cap lid.

Our Octane rating is calculated based on RON, states uses PON for their Octane rating which results in a lower number. Both are not comparable.

Well then again in Thailand the 335 drink Gasohol 95 which is Petrol and Ethanol and in the state of Connecticut, Minnesota, Florida and for most state of USA petrol contains ethanol. Do you think they have a different map for cars sold in the USA and Thailand? The 135 sold in the USA so far have also been dyno and ran with really good results, Unsure of the petrol use.
