My car is starting to give me lots of problems...

1) Brake squeaking when coming to a stop.
2) Turning the steering wheel gives a weird sound like rubber rubbed against each other.
3) Car will jerk when gear change.
4) At high speed, outside wind blow can be heard.

Help.........

Re: Getting piss with E46

1) change pads
2)put ATF in the pump
3)under heavy acceleration right?
4)yes, becasue at high speed, wind goes past very fast

Re: Getting piss with E46

You do know that one major aspect of car ownership is that you need to replace wear and tear parts right?

Re: Getting piss with E46

at high speed i like to put my head out the window like a dog, but i keep losing sunglasses that way. Better dont do. Plus Thomas is correct, dam noisy.

Bro, I can help you - let's meet up at Club Sandy, I show you my repair bills for the past 4 months (there are so many of them I need to put them in a file), and tell you what had gone wrong. Guarantee you'll feel better :cloud9:
I think I changed 101 items....

Re: Getting piss with E46

thomas - I'm sure the title of your thread brought a wry smile to the likes of phil. When I first read it, I thought you were using your E46 as a shopping trolley to buy beer. But that obviously wasn't the case. In relation to (4), I suspect you may be referring to wind finding its way into your car, past the door seals, at high speed. If that is the case, get the door seals checked out, and it may be indicative of an inexpert repair job to the door in the past. Good luck!

Thomas
Can't comment much cause we don't know much about your ride's history. Just bought it or had been with it for a while. Which year your E46 and model, etc.
Wear n tear is definately your problems you are pissed with. U need not go PML to look into all this and there's cheaper alternatives. ( Click on "Links n Resources" )
Notice that u are new to forum, do join us this friday evening (15 Feb ) for met-up of E46 owners and perhaps u can get some 2 cents worth of suggestions and opinions.
Venue : Kallang's Macdonalds' Carpark @ 8 pm.

Re: Getting piss with E46

Haha..... Thank you bros for your wonderful comments. I guess I will have to wait and see what my mechanics have to say. :furious:

Phil,
What I meant was when I change from lets say "D" to "R" or vice versa, it seems that the gear change cause quite a bit of jerk.

j8833t,
Thank you so much for your invitation, I would love to join you guys but I can't confirm the timing. In case I'm able to make it how do I go about the meet-up? anyone I should contact?

Is it a very loud "clunk" sound? Yeah you should send to one of the recommended workshops to diagnos the problem.

Re: Getting piss with E46

hmmm, good question.

has it always been like that, or it just happened?

Re: Getting piss with E46

Not too sure. It's been like that since I took over the car about a month ago.
BTW, it's 3+ year old car.

Re: Getting piss with E46

hmmm, maybe its normal, i dunno cause im used to mine, i would have to sit in yours and try to see if its different

Re: Getting piss with E46

dunno, i will check later.

i think around 900 in gear with air con on

but the car should adjust this itself. very smart one
