Ya, I know what you're going thru wmb888 ... You have my empathy. I went thru the same thing as well, my previous ride was the WRX STi which I drove for only 1 year ... and the pain of the "devaluation" when the dealer quoted for my STi. Some more backside itchy, within that 1st year mod so much stuff on the STi. I thought to myself, alamak "rugi" BIG time sia!

But the feel of the test drive of the Bimmer was too strong to fight off, supplimented by the wife's persuasion to opt for the German marque, I took the plunge!

Now 8 months into driving my current ride, I must say that I am enjoying the drive more and have no regrets about that plunge ... must pamper yourself once in awhile, I say to myself!:)

well, with the current bad economic situation...i think Bro Wmb888's loss is much worse compared to good times. well, i guess u just have to juggle the finances and see if its worth buying. see whether trade in value is worth it, any overtrade? or can u get a better deal selling your current ride then get this new one

sorry OT but..
wait a minute.. erh.. so the WRX STi with the speed and all of it was nothing afterall compare to the 325i? when i was having my 530i and getting bored... i was toying with the idea if i want to go on getting the ~5 sec 0-100 sprint car such as the Subaru WRX STi....
there was this chap in a latest white WRX at my daughter gym class poked me once when i was in my slow 530i leaving the place... ouch. ouch!

Re: Good time to buy bad time to sell

Hi guys,
Thanks for your advice but the $24k over trade is more or less come back to square 1 meaning I will buying at $131k off the $8k from the list price.Hence I decided to hand over my old car to my friend something like renting.Bro EMF you are right "is the mod that we spend that make me really sia young my "WRX" even more......

Re: Good time to buy bad time to sell

that kinda arrangement very dangerous hor bro.
wait your fren give up, u end up needing to service loan for both cars....very siong leh

Re: Good time to buy bad time to sell

life is short...close eyes buy. spend ourselves out of recession. i also wanna buy again. si sua la!

Re: Good time to buy bad time to sell

Bro sszone,
Thanks for your advice but since I prepare to lose I feel this is a better arrangement well at least i still can see my wrx for a few more couple of mths I hope.Haiz life is short guess got to risk it anyway will be collecting my E90 tomorrow tonight will be the last night washing my rex.Just get it service today b4 handing over to my friend hope he will be taking good care of it.Any bros here know if I opt for 18" will the gap be too big btw the fender and rim?Becos when I was in showroom I saw the stock rim 16" was only 2 finger gap btw the fender and rims but when I read it the forum all seems to said will be 3-4 finger if going for 18".Hmmm,,,make me wonder.

Re: Good time to buy bad time to sell

no worries...sekali win Toto or close some big deal, get to keep both cars...hehe
i think showroom car they bedeh lah....where got 2 fingers only...at least 3-4 fingers gap for stock car front fender and wheel

Personal preference I guessed ... I'm at a stage when there's more to life than just driving a ride that goes fast and having brute horsepower. I tasted enough of some decent Jap street bullets, DC5, S15, Evo and STi, before to know what it feels like, and to a certain extent, I still have some soft spot for these Jap tuners favourites. However, now cruising in my 3er I get to appreciate the world's colour more and ... I arrive at my next destination with lesser ruffled feathers and to a certain extent, in style ... ha ha ha. In that perspective, yah, I don't regret getting my 3er. :)

Bout all the petrol heads that likes to "poke" you to any traffic lights drag race, learn how ignore them. Even though one drives a fast car, round another corner, there's always someone else who may have a faster one. Never ending lah ... :)
