Re: Gordon Ramsay tries Sharks fin soup. Verdict: tasteless
Well if one is to eat meat, then you must kill for it. But we have a choice to be responsible. This includes eating something that is not endangered, doesnt involve cruel rearing or killing practices, and everything else is probably okay. Killing animals for anything other than food is not correct either; fur, tusks, bile, etc.
So I do not agree with killing sharks. We have many other sea creatures to eat. Why kill something that is getting endangered? Human beings have already done much harm to the earth.
In the same light, tuna that is irresponsibly caught, chicken cruelly reared, should all stop too.
I guess we can choose when we have the correct facts. When the buying stops the killing can too, is actually quite true, simple demand and supply.
Now, on a totally different light, what's the argument about wedding dinner sharks fin. The persons who do the ordering of the dish (the killing) is actually the marrying couple. Even if you dont eat it, it's already ordered and the demand already registered. Even if you have a 100% boycott at your wedding, it's only probably going to work if you get married again, as it doesnt affect other wedding couples. To be responsible, couples shouldnt order it in the first place, and restaurants shouldnt even serve it in the first place, including your fois gras, et al.
So, in order not to waste the death of the sharks, I still eat. Like Kenntona. hehehe
