Hi guys.. I am looking for cheap and good tyres to change. My car is left with only 1.5 years..therefore I am contemplating whether I should change to new ones or should I just go for second hand ones? Thank u in advance!

Go to a reputable tire shop, there may be people trading in their new oem rims for upgrade. Those oem tires are normally quite new and if the size fits, you can get a good deal.

i hv a good set left. but hv about 2 tire patches in them. u want? sell u cheap.

or look for nick. he re-uses his rubber.....washes them n hang dry.

Before giving u the correct advise .. I need to know your DOB. Cos then I...We can determine what type of rubber u need.

Agree with ac323.. Tyres is one thing cannot scrimp on. You don't want that to be the straw that breaks in a life or death situation.

Having said that, based on the scenario you described, a lot depends on:
1) your driving style (eg aggressive with hard sprints and brakes or slow pickup and gradual brakes)
2) the mileage you'll cover in the next 1.5yrs (some people cover 35-40k km a year so will need 2 changes and hence years left on paper is not a consideration)
3) the terrain you normally drive in.
4) your budget and the amount of money you plan to save between a good brand new set vs "not so good" set. (You may be surprised at how small the difference could be if you shop around a bit)

With answers to all these questions, I'm sure a reputable tyre dealer will be able to advise you of your options... Without risking your life and those you love...

This tire was only 2 months old when it happened, was doing only 100km/hr,
Old 2nd hand dunno wat will happen.......my nor chiam worth tks

Agreed that tyres save lives. 1.5 yrs is long enough. What don't u try the few advertisement here. There are few bros trying to sell their rims plus tyres very cheap either in the E90 or F30 forums.
