Help regard Iphone cradle.

HI Fellow BMW driver, I got this question to ask, I got the Iphone cradle for my 320. Can i know other than charging my Iphone what else can it do. Seems like the Cradle only do charging because if i dun activate my Bluethooth my phone cant be used when plug onto the cradle. Is it a white elephant???

Basically the snap-in iphone cradle does nothing other than charge your iphone and aerial signal, it does NOT offer a hard-wired connection to the iDrive, the connection between phone and iDrive has been and always will be bluetooth. Several people have also wandered if this would allow you to access the iPod features on the iPhone through the stereo but it DOESNT. :furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:

hmmm... ok. A possible mis-representation. Just like my bluetooth-ready iDrive. It will cost me another $2,500 just to fix a module to bluetooth my iPhone... and my E60 is classified Bluetooth-ready. Daylight robbery.

forgive me for asking... does tt mean tt it is not possible to connect iPhone to iDrive unless we spend $2500? Is this done at PML?

PML $2,500 only if your car is Bluetooth ready!!! Otherwise I think there's an another $1,500 module.

Got other options lar. Go and find our Site Sponsor Soundwerkz. I think they quoted me only about $1500 for rear view cam plus bluetooth right into iDrive.


I am so so so chised off with PML service. The hell with BMW!

I not sure what are the issues you guys are facing, but my phone is connected to my idrive through bluetooth and it never do any module add-ons.

You need to pair your phone with car thats all. I'm using iphone4.

For iphone 4, you cannot use the "CD/Media" function to scroll through your songs, but for the 3GS it works instead, your playlist and songs ID all will be showed.

you can scroll your iphone 4 song list. you just need to go to external devices.

thanks for the sharing bro. i almost bought the unit just because i didn't want to have a cable coming out from my usb jack. actually, if you want to charge your iphone (or any other phone for that matter) the ciggy lighter and the usb can do very nicely. i've got a usb connection from my iphone to the car for $19.90. just buy the cheong cable for any ah beng phone store can ready. length you can choose some more. charge, access music, the works.

What info you need Mikey?

Just get the iPhone charging cable, the white one that comes with your phone, plug phone to USB under arm rest cover and you're done.
