hi all,
What will do you if there is only 1 available lot and the car beside is parked on the center lane?
what i did was to drop my wife and 1 yr old daughter then parked right next to his door.
although his car is big, doesn't make he can park like this right? if he cant parked with big cars, then why drive it?

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

You should wait for him to come back and ask him those questions.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

My neighbour has a honda jazz and he parks close to the centre line. I asked the ang mo why ?

He say that he can park anywhere in the white box - it's his space and he can do whatever he wants.

WTF.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

There are some possible explanations for the above scenario:
1) The driver is simply an inconsiderate parking idiot; or
2) The driver may have parked in that manner because the car on the other side may have parked out of boundary. (Unless its a 2 lot cluster), in which case that driver is the inconsiderate parking idiot.

Considering its the last lot, here's essentially the probably outcomes:
1) You can squeeze and park tightly next to him (which you did) and possibly hinder the opening of the passenger/driver door (depending on reverse or head-in parking). However, the downside is, if the driver/passenger are inconsiderate idiots to begin with, as per scenario (1) above, you have to be prepared to live with the fact that your car will possibly be dinged and scratched because they won't give a hoot and force their way in if they can.

2) If the driver of the car parked on the centre line was not the parking idiot as per scenario (2) above, your action would most likely cause him the same reaction as you had and that may translate to him possibly dinging your ride as well as cursing you for being a parking idiot as well.

2) Knowing that the space can be very tight and if you value your car and its aesthetic appearance, you can either wait for another alternative lot to come by, or park with the other side of your vehicle very tightly to the other side, closer to pillar/lot cluster divider (if there is one). Win-Win, you are the bigger person and the other driver would probably have no consequence to your life or frustration.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

the lots are in 2 lot cluster. (pillar, lot, lot, pillar) i already park very near to the pillar on my side but my wife still couldn't get out. maybe the lots in my void are small la. hehe...

Only if your ride is a pickup... just park so close to his ride that his side mirror has to be folded to even move out of the space... how he gets in is another matter altogether :p

If you value your ride, just spend a little time to find another parking space.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

He told me that he parked like that so that he can force me to park the car elsewhere. And no one can tell him how to park because its his space, its his car and its his way.

The best part is that we are all allocatted fixed lots. He even told me that my car is too big and I should sell it and get a small car like him.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

drive lorry best....all driver will siam parking next to u....lol

anyway, just wait a while for other lots unless u wanna risk car door getting ding parking so close to it.
can stomp the idiot car or leave a love note for the driver if u wanna remind him/her abt her idiot parking

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

I would follow that ang moh when he drives out and once his car is parked somewhere, I will splash red paint at it....

At least for the next 2-3 weeks u will have 2 lots while his car is being repainted

Once its done, repeat the same process until he installs in-car cam, then u can move house

Aiyoh please don't come up with ideas like that. We are law-abiding folks.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

I generally do not have this issue cause I am Toto's neighbour. Can park on helipad.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

Tape a pen knife to your left wing mirror (knife pointing outwards). Park next to him (on his right side). I'm sure he will come to you saying the knife is a hazard. Fark him telling him the knife is within the parking lot and it is your private space.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

for any effective vandalism and eradicate any chances of being caught, you cannot do stuff which takes time..or rather more than the "5-sec" rule.

Walk up to the car, spray paint can ready in hand, casually walk past (or jog past like a jogger) and then let go a nice stream of red paint spray across one side of the car. All in 5 secs or less. Once you jog or walk further and see that the coast is clear, walk or jog back and do the other side. But usually I would caution agst going back..do once enough.

Re: idiot/inconsiderate parker

ya actually if i meet scenarios like this, u will see me circling around the car park until i find the correct lot with the correct size. If too small or too cramp and if i think it might be aesthetically damaged by some yauw siew chek ah drivers, i will drive around again and find another lot. Yes!! A little patience and waste of fuel but its a damn perfect excuse to spend more time in the car you love. =)

Sheer Driving Pleasure....
