Install now or wait? Advice...

Hi guys.

I have changed the shocks and springs on my car (lowered) recently but have not done an alignment yet. This is becos I am expecting a new set of wheels (plus 2, from 17") to arrive soon and my mechanic advises me to wait for them to be installed before I go for the alignment.

I bought a front strut bar yesterday (I know I know, for swee only) from another forumer and am about to install it.

My questions are:

1) should I wait for the alignment to be done before I install the strut bar? I seem to recall that adjustments need to be made from the front strut tower during an alignment, and so it needs to be taken out anyway.

2) Is there enough allowance in terms of camber adjustment or do I need a camber kit? It's a drastic change going from 17" on stock non-sport suspension to 19" on Koni FSD's and Eibach Prokit springs, and I've read that you can only adjust a limited amount.

Thanks in advance.

Only when u hv adjustable camber plates (which is aftermkt product) then u can hv more room for camber/castor adjustments.

FYG, given the low profile wheel set up you are already on, a small degree of adj in the camber has alot more impact (in handling dept) vs the same degree of adj but on higher profile wheel set up.

I dont think u really need adj camber plates unless you want to go tracking:)
Bear in mind also the implication of uneven tire wear.

Cheers n hv fun with ur new mods
